Zoo Trip

I will start off this post by saying that once again i am a blonde and forgot to reset my camera settings.. so all the pictures were overexposed. *sigh*

We had such an amazing day at the zoo today! We have been studying animals with backbones so this field trip fit in perfectly. This week we had been reading about different animals that interested Alex... including Armadillos. And after reading about a toad in the road in a Thomas book Alex wanted to know what the difference between a frog and a toad was. So we looked it up. Then came time for the zoo... and they had different animals out for petting/looking/learning about. Armadillos and Toads were included! Alex was so thrilled and he really impressed the zookeeper with the toad when he could tell her the differences between a frog and a toad. Man i love it when the homeschooling all comes together! He was so interested and soaked up all the information each of the zookeepers had to tell him. The rest of the zoo was really fun too. The butterfly garden was really enjoyable. I loved this one giraffe who kept trying to get low by spreading it's front legs. It was too cute!
