We made some sugar cookies this year.. ok we got premade dough and decorated them LOL. We used Pioneer Woman's idea for painting the raw cookies with eggwash paint. It turned out really neat! Here is Poppop, Mimi, and Alex painting while i'm rolling out the extra dough.

I took a break from cooking on christmas eve and went up to the little park with Bob and Alex. He really wanted to ride his bike around the tennis court. I mostly watched Bob get exercise chasing Alex around LOL.

We went to church on Christmas Eve, look how spiffy everyone looks! Alex was really good during the church service, though he'd forget now and then that he had to talk quietly.. he busted out with "HEY LOOK THAT GUY HAS AN AIR GUITAR!" a little too loud LOL. (they had a full band of people playing instruments) He was ADORABLE singing along with Away in the Manger. Makes me all teary. When we got home Poppop, Mimi, and Alex read "The Night before Christmas" and "The Christmas Story" before bedtime :)

Christmas Day - a really nice day we had. We started off with Alex and Poppop taking turns reading the Christmas Story from Alex's beginner reader bible... then headed into presents. Our favorite line from christmas morning was Alex.. while opening a package of "bumpy" track pieces for his thomas train set... "BUMPY TRACK! I'VE BEEN DREAMING OF THIS!!" Mimi got the best gift ever. We got her an electronic bubble wrap keychain. It rocks! She also loved her Chuckie baby DVD - first season of Walker Texas Ranger. Poppop got his usual Star Trek calendar, some denim shirts, and I made him a mini album with pictures from all of our visits together this year. I even managed to put christmas pictures in there before they left. We then headed over to Grandma and Pappap's house. Had a great time opening gifts, having dinner, and hanging out.

After Christmas... had some fun playing Uno. Alex got it for christmas and a neato card holder from Aunt Audrey. It's fabulous. Then after a couple days of being lazy around the house we went out to Fun Forest for some play. Got some great pictures of Poppop and Alex being silly... and some of Poppop and Mimi having a kiss.. can't believe they just had their 55th anniversary! Speaking of anniversaries.. Mom, Dad, Bob, me, and Poppop and Mimi all went out for our collective anniversary to the Cheesecake factory. So fun that we all got married on the same day :) 55, 32, and 6 years. Alex stayed with Aunt Cyndy and had a blast, he didn't want to leave!
