Alex had a wonderful birthday party this year! We kept it small, just the neighbors, Heather's crew, and the Grandparents... but it was a lot of fun. It was extremely windy so the outdoor party I had planned got unexpectedly moved indoors. It was sooooo much fun listening to all those kids blow their party horns inside LOL. The kids sat around the table eating cake and ice cream.. making up their own versions of the Happy Birthday song, it was so cute! The kids had fun in the playroom and of course playing dress up! Alex got some really cool gifts including a rock painting kit (didn't get a good picture of that), a Backyardigans computer game, a Henry HO gauge engine, a complete James and freight cars HO guage set, a MightyMac wooden engine, and a set of GoPaints. Pappap and Grandma got him a sand/water table just like theirs that he plays with ALL the time. So exciting! He loved every single one. Though I think the bag Heather brought her gift in was more fun than the toys at the party, it played Happy Birthday and lit up!
Also included in this birthday was watching the Nascar race with Pappap. For some reason even though WE don't watch Nascar, Alex loves it. He's his Pappap's kid for sure.
Thanks to everyone for the great gifts, he is really enjoying them. Thanks for making it a great party! Poppop and Mimi - Alex was THRILLED to have Henry and has been running him and his new James around the track all morning.
PS Grandma and I made the cake, that was 3 hours of uproarious laughter that produced a mostly hideous looking cake. But it was worth it for the shear fun. Next year - Walmart will be making the cake. LOL!
