This week we had 2 field trips. And lots of shopping. I'm wore out. I think we might just stay home friday!
Tuesdays field trip was to the Fire and Rescue Training Center. The Virginia Beach fire dept put on a fabulous program for us on Fire Saftey. There were 106 kids in our group! They were ecstatic to reach the homeschooling community. They get their programs out to the schools/daycares/etc but had no way of getting info out to us. The kids learned so much about safety and what to do in emergencies. They got to see a firefighter dress out so they won't be scared of them if they see them. And they got to learn about all the different parts of a fire truck. They even had a police officer talk to them about general safety. Alex had a blast!
Today's field trip was to Pizza Hut to make their own pizzas. You KNOW the kids loved that. Alex is just enthralled with any machinery and seeing how things work so he was in heaven. He couldn't stop telling me about the big oven and how it moved the pizzas through. He put about a ton of sausage on his pizza too LOL.
