Alex has been questing a lot lately. And being super creative. It's awesome :) He kept carrying his wand from Great Wolf Lodge in his waist band, so i threw together this scabbard for him real quick. Not bad for someone who sucks with a sewing machine.
The other thing we've been doing a lot is bird watching. We have our binoculars, National Audubon Guide to Eastern Birds, and a chair pulled up to the window. We have a nice big bird feeder and some dishes of seed set out for the bigger birds. We've seen so many different kinds and have become very familiar with lots of birds now. It's been really fun. Lately we've had about 5-6 Juncos take up residence. They are the cutest little black and white birds. Apparently they only come down here for winter, they summer in Canada.
We had some bird excitement today! We bought more bird feed at Walmart... Alex went through the house to open the back door for me, i brought the seed straight to the back yard. He comes rushing out, there is a bird trapped inside the screened porch! So we prop the door open and hide around the corner, peeking at him... and in just a minute he figured it out and scurried up the tree. All the time he was chirping around the porch, he had managed to hold on to his treasure.. a juicy acorn. Which he sat in the tree right above us and ate. Check out the pictures! He is a Titmouse bird that we first saw yesterday in our yard.
Please pardon all my poor photography.. everything happens so quick and i never seem to have the camera set right LOL.

Wendy, so glad you are feeling better. That little guy is so cute and you did a great job with the scabbard. I too love to watch birds and I am not very successful in getting good pictures, but I love to scrap them.
