Things here are going great... so glad to have Daddy home for a week. Saturday we went to the Virginia Living Museum. We saw a planetarium show, cruised around the outside animal exhibits, stared in amazement at all the bees. When we were last there in January the hive was all asleep.. now they are abuzz with so much activity!
We ran up to Busch Gardens to get our real season passes... didn't go into the park.. but now we're ready to go! I think we're going to go up Friday.
A quick stop at the commissary for lots of meat and we went home. Pooped!
Today - Alex wanted to try cereal. I know.. it seems ridiculous that he's almost 7 and has never tried cereal. I just don't eat it often.. i neeeeed protein at breakfast. What was funny was his amazement over how fast you can make a bowl of cereal. "WOW, that was fast!!" Yeah.. a lot faster than mom can make oatmeal on the stove or scrambled eggs eh? The verdict... nope he didn't care for it. (Maple and Brown sugar Mini Wheats)
Sigh... back to being chained to the stove again... LOL
Today i also let him start testing out his skills from his cooking class. He decided he wanted to make a recipe from his class - Ginger Banana Bread. I helped him along the way with some of the measuring and mess control... but overall he did everything himself. Very awesome! We're taking a break from the class for now (we want to spend our fridays at Busch Gardens this month if we can! LOL) But he is going to continue practicing his skills by making 1 or 2 of his recipes a week. Verdict - very good! It's like a spice cake. He's very proud of himself and we are proud of him too:)
