Virginia Living Museum

Today we went to the Virginia Living Museum. We are studying animals for science right now so it fit in well. Alex just amazed me and the staff there at every turn with his interest in learning, asking questions, and his knowledge level. He astounded the staff person at the touch tank when he correctly answered her questions about hermit crabs. The staff person near the large fish tank talked with him and answered questions for him for a long time. After a pause in the talking..

Alex: "Do you know what is inside fish?"
Staff Person: "What?"
Alex: "Fish Sticks!!"

Ahhh he's got such an Inman corny sense of humor LOL.

Alex was really fascinated with a plexiglass bee hive they had there, we went back multiple times to look at it...watching the bees coming in and out. They also had Monarch butterflies that were hatching... we watched those for quite a while.

I made him a checklist of animals to find in the 5 groups of vertabrates that we are currently studying.. that's on the clipboard he's carrying in the pictures. He loved it, was like a scavenger hunt. It was such a wonderful day and i'm so blessed that we can have these learning experiences together.

In other news... teeball has started back up again *groan* Practice twice a week and games on Saturday. Why didn't he pick the cooking class instead of teeball this season?!?! LOL

Daddy is also out of town again... expected back friday at midnight. Miss you lots Daddy!

Tell Alex Mrs. Tricia thinks his fish-stick joke was really funny!
